Disease clusters are being discovered among 15 states in our country. This should be of no surprise to researchers in my opinion as we’ve seen in movies such as the most famous one Erin Brockovich. The thing that the researchers don’t know is what is causing these clusters. I suspect that many industries would not want this explored. It usually turns out that it’s something from a factory that leaks into the ground and water supply that we use.

Some of the diseases mentioned included ALS and MS, brain tumors, cancers, and even a diabetes belt.

The diabetes belt may sound strange but I bet it has more to do with the availability or affordability of good nutritive foods rather than junk food.

This could be the start of people also looking at disease clusters before they buy their next home.

Weight Watchers is redoing their points system after 13 years. The theory of calories consumed is of course the same, but now they’ll be rating foods on the GI index. Foods lower on that list may have the same calories but foods that are healthier for you will have better points. It’s one thing to be able to lose and maintain a good weight but it’s quite another to keep your arteries clear and your organs working to proper potential.

A lot of people don’t realize that all calories being equal there are better food choices to be made.

Here’s the heart of this study. If you have a baby and breastfeed for the first month at least, you are half as likely to get diabetes than those who have a baby but don’t breastfeed at all. Those moms are twice as likely to develop the disease than those previously mentioned.

Of course I’m looking for the angle here. Everyone knows it’s better for baby and mom to breast feed for the first year. Some women are just not able, comfortable, or stable enough to do some. Throwing in their faces that now in addition to being bad mothers they will be punished further by getting diabetes because they didn’t breastfeed their babies.

What does breastfeeding have to do with diabetes? I has to do with burning excess fat from your body. If I’m righ about that then how about singling out those people who don’t exercise. or those who don’t run, walk, or jog?

Maybe we could group a lot of different people together like those who golf and aren’t burning enough calories?

You know as well as I do that mothers are easy to attack and are sponges for guilt trips.

Your life style is what counts, what you are doing now in terms of diet and movement, leave the breasts out of it and do what’s best for you and your child.

A new study had determined that hundreds of millions could be saved in health care costs if clinics started including preventative and wellness care into their programs.

A nonprofit advocacy group called the Trust for America’s Health discovered that clinics that encouraged quitting smoking, proper eating, and exercise, proved to be a better investment than those that didn’t.

The results were better than expected because they showed savings immediately and not just 20 years down the line.

They suggest that if you make it easy for people to make better and healthier choices they will.

Diabetes is one disease that can involve many complications and can eventually lead to death. For a lot of type 2 diabetics, if they just get more exercise and good nutrition they can live a healthy life without insulin injections or other diabetes medication.

They say the focus needs to be on maintaining good health, and I agree with them.

The parents of an 11 year old girl who died from undiagnosed diabetes leading to ketoacidosis, are being charged with 2nd degree reckless homicide. They could face up to 25 years if convicted.

Dale and his wife Leilani Newmann watched and prayed while the girl died. They were told by the grandmother to take the child to the hospital but said they had faith in prayer, and that God would save her.

Two weeks prior to her death the girl started feeling tired and ill. Her parents answer was simply to pray.

There is no doubt that belief in God and prayer can be very healing and very powerful, but these idiots failed to understand that God is not their personal “doctor on call”. I’m sure the almighty would want these two buffoons to act on their own behalf and help themselves. When we fall down, do we get up or do we lay there and pray that God will bring us to our feet?

To make matters worse these morons have three other children in their teens. I would hope the first action of the court would be to take these kids away from these freaks before something happens to them. There is no excuse for not getting their daughter medical attention. None.
