Forgive me if you’ve heard this from me already, but if you have it’s worth repeating.
Right now my husband and I are prime examples of salt intake extremes. My husband who has perfect blood pressure, uses salt like it’s a main course. Not only does he thrive on fast, fried, and processed foods he adds salt to everything without even tasting the food first. At least once every day or two I catch him just pouring the salt from the container right into his mouth without any food. Again, he’s thin and has perfect blood pressure and he’s been doing this salt thing for years and years.
I on the other hand am so bloated from water that I can’t look straight ahead or down because half of my vision is covered by the huge swollen bags under my eyes. I’ve lost fine use of my hands because they are so swollen it feels like I’m wearing gloves, big heavy gloves. My feet and ankles hurt and look like balloons. When I get this bad I have to stop eating anything with high sodium for at least a week before the water goes down. No fast food, no lunchmeats, nothing from a can and no fried foods. I am so sensitive to salt and sodium that I’ve had to find alternatives to making food taste good.
