2 Year Old Smoker

This story is unbelievable. Indonesia there supposedly is a two year old who not only just smokes cigarettes but smokes 40 of them per day.

His father says he doesn’t see a problem with this and that the child is healthy. His mother says she wants him to stop but if they don’t give him the smokes, he has a massive tantrum and hits his head against the wall and screams. Giving him the cigarettes is the only way he’ll stop his fit. Mom also says he’s become a fat child who can barely keep up with other kids his age. The father thinks he’s healthy enough.

Is this for real? I would ask how the kid got the habit to begin with. Who started him and showed him how to smoke? Mother and father need to buy themselves some good head phones and put the kid in a helmet or safe confined area and let him have his fit. I mean who is running this home anyway?

Toddler Mauled to Death

What is happening to parental common sense and our children? This family lived in Southern California and had a 2 year old boy and 2 pit bulls. For a reason not yet determined, one of the dogs attacked this child and he ended up dying from massive head trauma.

While I know it’s true that there must be a couple exceptions to the belief that pit bulls are killers, I also cannot deny that too many of these attacks are from this particular breed of dog.

Maybe it’s safe to say that most people who elect to have pit bulls train them to be killers on purpose, either to be cool or for supposed protection. All I know is that this breed seems predisposed to maul to death people and other animals.

The bottom line is that this little boy is dead and died in the most horrific way by this pit bull. That’s all I need to know. I would never expose a child to such a dog. While it might be gentle with the owner, the alpha dog of the pack, who knows how it sees the rest of the family, the neighbors, and especially the children in the house.

One Year Old Severly Beaten

May 27, 2010 · Filed Under Health Care · Comment

There was a house robbery in South Africa where a one year old girl and one adult were severely beaten.

The only things missing from the home were a laptop and a modem. The police there made 2 arrests but did not say whether the items were recovered or if more arrests were pending.

The one year old baby girl is in grave condition with a massive head wound. I find it hard to accept that adults get beaten that badly, but to do that to a baby? For what? What kind of animal does that? This is becoming a real dangerous world for little ones. How can someone look at the innocence in those eyes and betray that innocence in that way?

How can we better protect ourselves and more importantly, our babies?

How To Enjoy Food Without Salt

May 25, 2010 · Filed Under Health Care · Comment

In my efforts to avoid sodium and salt I tried buying food items that had no sodium in them. Most items like catsup and certain lunch meats have been pretty good, however I was shocked by the lack of any taste from canned salt less soups. I couldn’t even eat them after tasting them.

First what I had to do was grow up and be an adult about the situation. Salt is very bad for me, so either I let it slowly kill me, or live with a few tasteless meals. Everything we eat doesn’t have to be the be all end all of meals.

The second thing I had to do was look for alternatives to the sodium and table salt. I did find some but not in salt substitutes. Those to me are terrible. Salt is salt and no imitation comes close. What did add a lot of flavor was lime juice which really brought out food flavors. Also a low or no salt hot sauce or hot peppers minced or chopped added a great deal of flavor. I also make my own salsa which also adds flavor.

Watch your blood pressure and weight, get a checkup and decide for yourself how much sodium and salt you can have, then be an adult and eat for health and not pleasure.

More About Salt

Rockin FreeForgive me if you’ve heard this from me already, but if you have it’s worth repeating.

Right now my husband and I are prime examples of salt intake extremes. My husband who has perfect blood pressure, uses salt like it’s a main course. Not only does he thrive on fast, fried, and processed foods he adds salt to everything without even tasting the food first. At least once every day or two I catch him just pouring the salt from the container right into his mouth without any food. Again, he’s thin and has perfect blood pressure and he’s been doing this salt thing for years and years.

I on the other hand am so bloated from water that I can’t look straight ahead or down because half of my vision is covered by the huge swollen bags under my eyes. I’ve lost fine use of my hands because they are so swollen it feels like I’m wearing gloves, big heavy gloves. My feet and ankles hurt and look like balloons. When I get this bad I have to stop eating anything with high sodium for at least a week before the water goes down. No fast food, no lunchmeats, nothing from a can and no fried foods. I am so sensitive to salt and sodium that I’ve had to find alternatives to making food taste good.

Vodka Eyeballing

May 19, 2010 · Filed Under Health Care · Comment

If you haven’t heard of this yet, it’s called vodka eyeballing. It’s a new fad brought over from the UK from a movie, where the shot of vodka is poured directly into the eyeball. Idiots are doing it because they believe that they’ll get drunk faster.

First of all you don’t get drunk faster because there is so little of the alcohol that get into your system from your eyes. Secondly, putting vodka in your eyes is extremely painful. Thirdly you can damage cells in your eyes. Eye doctors admit that it’s unlikely to go blind but that it is possible.

I think young people will do it as a dare to prove how manly they are, but all it proves to me is how stupid and desperate they are. They obviously are so week they need approval and this is one of the new ways they think will get it for them.

I for one am not impressed.

Sack Tapping

May 16, 2010 · Filed Under Health Care · Comment

Well here’s another idiotic teen game, whereas boys hit each other in their “sacks”. I guess it’s to see how much pain they can take. However these careless and stupid boys are doing themselves and others serious harm. Even to the point of having to have surgery for removal of testicles.

Parents need to warm their kids about this and let them know that testicles don’t grow back. It should be treated as assault if done by someone else, especially if it’s done as an act of bullying.

I love u-tube because you can see really wonderful things on it, but a lot of the videos put on there are of teens being mean, reckless, mean, and self destructive. Kids are getting way too out of hand these days and the more we allow them to  post such crap, the worse they will get.

Don’t Discount Stress

May 9, 2010 · Filed Under Health Care · Comment

There are often times in a womans life when she starts to experience symptoms such as sleeplessness, anxiety, nervousness, nausea, and headaches for example.

When a doctor examines the lady and finds no outright condition, it’s often diagnosed as stress or stress related. The problem is that the lady knows she really feels bad and is looking for a reason she feels that way other than to say it’s just stress. We all know that doctors often label women as just having stress if they can’t find anything else wrong.

While this happens a lot, stress really can be a reason or factor in feeling bad. Sometimes we ladies deny the stress diagnosis because we feel it’s like saying it’s all in our minds. However we need to understand that stress is a very real thing. It’s also a serious condition that causes us all sorts of aches and pains.

If your doctor says you are suffering from stress, don’t get angry. Try to address what might be adding stress to your life. Follow your doctors instructions as to how to deal and eliminate from your life as much as possible. Then if those things don’t work you can consult another doctor for a second opinion.

Hypothyroidism Part 3

May 7, 2010 · Filed Under Health Care · Comment

In addition to losing my voice, my skin is so dried out the back of my hands look like aligator skin and they feel so rough they scratch normal skin. I lost the hair on my legs and none will grow there. The hair on my head is thinning and other areas have barely any hair at all.

I do talk too slow and I’m thinking too slow also. I am so tired almost all the time that I barely get off the couch these, although I still manage to do the dishes, the floors, and straighten up. Still it’s not enough for my family. They want me to go outside and take walks in the sunlight. They are convinced that’s all I need and that there’s nothing wrong with me. Sometimes they are downright cruel about it and yell at me and call me horrible names. They’ve said that they love me and are scared that I will die. They believe it’s all in my mind and that I can get better if I really wanted to.

I’m back on the pills now and have been for 10 days now. These pills work after they’ve built up in your body. This can take up to three or four months.  I just have to take it day by day.

Hypothyroidism Part 2

May 5, 2010 · Filed Under Health Care · Comment

My family thinks I’m lazy and I talk too slow. This annoys my adult kids. They actually don’t want to talk to me because I talk too slow.

Anyone that has this condition can tell you that one of the first things to be affected is the voice. At least it was with me. I sound like a 110 year old with a soar throat. People on the phone assume I have a bad cold or flu. I just go along with it. Others mistake me for my son because my voice or what’s left of it is just too deep.

My own husband even accused me of talking like this on purpose. He said I’m not trying. They think I do this on purpose. I don’t. I love music. I love to sing along with my favorite songs, but I can’t until my “magic pills” kick in.
