Ultraviolet Protection
Keeping your skin in a good condition is vital to leading a healthy life. Although spending time in the sun is perfectly normal and healthy, some precautions must be taken in order to prevent sunburn, premature aging of the skin, skin cancer, and other health effects.
Taking a few precautions can keep you healthy and protect you from the damages of excess sunlight:
• Avoid being in direct sunlight during from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Children below 6 months of age should not be out at the above times.
• Protective clothing is recommended.
• Some stores sell sunglasses with ultraviolet ray protection on the lens.
• Steer clear of reflective surfaces.
Last but not least: sunscreen.
I cannot stress enough on the importance of sunscreen during exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays. There are specific types of sunscreens that help protect against ultraviolet rays. I recommend using SPF 15 or higher and reapplying generous doses every 2 – 3 hours.
Hats are a simple yet effective piece of protection that I advise you to wear when being in the sun for long hours.
Please take cautions when being in direct contact with ultraviolet rays.
Thank you.
