Doctors want people to know that brain injuries can fool you by not having symptoms for hours or a couple days after the injury occurs. Even minor hits to the head can be deadly. Here are some things to look for after an injury occurs
- loss of consciousness
- severe or bad headache
- change in mental status like agitation or confusion
- problems with speech
- numbness or tingling on one side of the body
Doctors say if you experience any of these you should get to the hospital quickly. A hit to the head can cause a blood clot on the brain and must be treated accordingly.
