One common problem in the eyes is astigmatism. This is cause by something being wrong with the curve of the actual cornea of the eye. Vision is often blurry. Most cases of astigmatism can be corrected with lenses.
Nearsightedness or myopia is another form of eye where the actual eye ends up focusing the items or objects in the front area of the retina instead of directly on the retina area. Most people can see things up close very well but far away objects can cause a problem. You can wear glasses or get laser surgery to fix this problem.
Farsightedness is just the opposite of nearsightedness. Some people also call it hyperopia. This is more common in older adults than younger populations. It is corrected with glasses.
Cataracts can happen on children of any age. It is not just restricted to older adults. There is a cloudiness film that forms over the eye’s lenses making it really hard to see. You usually have to have surgery to correct this problem.
Color blindness is an eye problem that can’t be fixed. It is more often seen in males than in females. The cones inside the eye that are located in the retina are damaged and cannot be repaired. People that are color blind can see colors but they don’t always see the same color as everyone else. Many people with color blindness learn to adjust to the condition.
