Governments are starting to worry that with the growing trend to become obese throughout the world, it will begin to affect a countries economy.
Obese people tend to be sick more often than thin people and tend to not live as long. This would make the production in a country drop by at least three percent, which doesn’t sound like a lot, but would negatively impact the economy.
Being overweight used to be just the concern of the individual. Now that governments are getting more involved it will be interesting to see how far they will go to make us loose the excess pounds.
