As many as 10% of adults over 40 may haveĀ COPD, international experts have said.
COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is a term for a number of respiratory problems, including emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
The main cause of these breathing problems is smoking. Other causes would be the breathing in of dust and other chemicals.
People that suffer from COPD can become winded just getting dressed. The good news is that there is a test for this, and a therapy so that patients could live a near to normal life and improve their breathing.
