Mad cow disease is now found to have the ability to lay dormant in the human body for sixty years or more.
Researchers have been studying ex-cannibals who are now suffering from Kuru, which they say is similar to mad cow, they are both caused by what is called a prion.
The fear is that an epidemic may explode many decades from now. Most of the cows that were infected were consumed in the 90′s, while we were unaware of the danger.
