Medical Privacy Laws
June 5, 2006 · Filed Under Health Care
There have been over 19,000 complaints of violations of the Medical Privacy Law since it’s enactment a couple years ago. The punishment is a fine and/or jail time. Of these 19,000 only two (2) have been fined and/or jailed.
Of course! The administration likes that we are losing more and more privacy. They certainly don’t want to discourage people who have access to our private medical records from being lax in protecting them.
Their excuse is that they want to just give warnings first and make the offenders promise not to do it again! What? Are we all just two years old again?
